Does anyone know what year Ford started using power steering hoses with the O-rings on Mavericks?...

When rebuilding my Comet frontend, I ran up on this early on. My valve and most of the linkage was junk , so unbeknown to me I'd bought a complete P/S system from a '77 Maverick. I'd already bought hoses so had to figure out what I could use from the '77. On valve I used the '77 sleeve, mated to the orig '72 valve. The '72 sleeve had horrible wear, someone had brazed ball stud opening to reduce its size (I could vision it falling apart). Resealed the '72 cylinder and mostly used the '77 linkage. It's been fine.

This isn't the Comet valve, but Fairlane uses exact same parts. Used two valves to make this one.
