power stering

    77 MAVERICK, 73 MAVERICK, 70 MAVERICK, HAD A FEW PARTS CARS
    my car started giving me problems yesterday the power stering is on the fritz i get assistance turing right but no help turning left do i need a new ps/control valve please help thank you

    Maybe, or maybe you can adjust the screw in the assist unit to give less assist in that direction and more in the other direction.

    I haven't messed with power assist in a while, but I think you can put it on jackstands, and rev the engine, and if the wheels pull one way, you can tighten or loosen the screw inside the cap, until it stops pulling, put the cap on, and be done with it.

    A new power assist is only $60-90, depending on warranty and where you buy it.
