I have never taken apart a 73' Grabber Rear Spoiler Quarter Extension.

    So I am curious...

...I believe the 70' - 72' Grabber rear spoiler quarter extensions have the upper section, and lower (dolphin fin section) connected in ONE piece...

...But are the 73' rear quarter extensions in 2 separate pieces, for the upper, and lower ("dolphin fin" as I call it) pieces?

I have heard that some of the later model Mavericks have been found with one piece units, but I was wondering if the quarter extensions were split into 2 separate pieces, between the upper and lower section, starting in 73?

    Small rear bumper extensions (70 - 73) are 2 pieces. Big bumper extensions (74 - 77) are 1 piece.

My 74 are 2 piece. Notice the wider bolt pattern on the '74 extension, but the hole for the fender extension is already there in the quarter and is covered with some type putty from the factory.

All Grabber upper quarter extensions are the same.

Thank you for the feedback guys...

...And one more question to clarify...cuz I'm still a little confused...

...I thought the 1973 Grabber Quarter Extension had a larger "dolphin fin" at the lower end of the quarter extension (compared to the 70-72), to allow filling in the space where the rear bumper sticks out farther...

...and I have seen where people have said to not forget to grab this piece when doing a small bumper swap....

...but if the Grabber quarter extension is all ONE piece....how could you forget the lower section, if it is all molded together as one piece?

So even the 1973 Grabber extension, with the larger fin sticking out at the bottom, is a Single piece? Which should make it different than the 70-72' Grabber extensions, with a smaller fin at the bottom.

1970-1973 upper Grabber quarter extensions are all the same.

1970-1972 Mavericks/Comets all got the exact same lower quarter extension, whethere there was a spolier or not.

1973 Mavericks and Comets all got the exact same lower quarter extension, whethere there was a spolier or not.

The 1973 lower extension is different than the 1970-1972 extension because the bumper sticks out further.

I have only found one piece upper and lower quarter extensions on the late 1977 cars.

Thank you for clarifying with that detailed explanation Craig...now this makes sense to me. Almost all of the years had the upper and lower separated into 2 separate pieces...even if they appear to be molded as one piece.

That is weird that there is a single piece later model extension...but very cool :)

All of those changing rules , in the 70's, by the Dept. of Transportation, on bumper safety changes....must have had the engineers scrambling to accommodate, and make all that stuff fit.

Yeah, lots of things on Mavericks/Comets were an afterthought.
