wow!.. never seen a mini-starter at such a low price before. Makes me very leary.

I would seriously have to question how something that's made in America could be priced so low without being completely full of cheaper imported parts. Heck, the minimum wage labor and overhead costs alone would likely eat up most of that price tag. lol

But.. such is the world we live in these days and even the "American made" stuff only has to hit "30% assembled in the states" to be able to legally use that marketing strategy. Don't mean to needlessly rant here, it's just frustrating to consumers who try buying for the sake of improved quality and strengthening our economy.. when some mfgrs are blatantly taking advantage of this countries patriotism by simply slapping a picture of our flag on the package.. yet still just assembling low quality parts from someplace overseas. At least the labor stays here but it's very misleading and I would be cautious of just about anything at this price point. Hopefully the warranty is good too but it's still no fun to be stranded or have to go without a car while the warranty and shipping time was being hashed out. Been there.. done that.. savings on the front end are usually not worth the added hassle on the backend.. lessons learned. Good luck with it.

That USA starter is rebuilt, appears to have a new Chinese front housing...

I'd bet they are buying offshore parts to rebuild worn out orig...

I can't bitch about the one on my Comet, since they are so cheap I may buy a extra to have a spare...

I have one around here for a 460 that's almost same as small block, only difference is one of the mounting bolt holes is threaded... Drill it out, bolt it on, done...

And an extra set of cloths to replace it when it leaves you stranded:biglaugh:

    Hi David,
These starters are remanufactured here in house in Rockford IL. We use only original Ford cores and restore them to factory specifications in our family owned shop. We would love to gain the trust and business of your club. Thanks and please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks
