OK, after a new aluminum radiator and other minor mods the Mav ran all day today beween 190-210, (OAT 98*) I am happy with that! My question is the big car show is this weekend and it includes the typical Saturday night cruise of about 3 MPH for a four mile stretch! Over and over and over...

My question is... Will the car be cooler if I leave the hood at home ? (liftoff) or with the hood on ? I am thinkng off as I will be going so slow that there is no advantage to airflow under the hood. I had a hard time last year as I sat in the traffic (road temps 120*) and watchd my needle climb to 240+ before I pulled over. This year I have the electric fan, new aluminm 4 core and better timing in the motor. Just looking for suggestions. Hood on or off? (that also means I need to polish the chrome uder the hood!)

With the electric fan running on high you should be fine. Try a practice run in a local parking lot - at mid day. If it stays cool then you are OK - if not check to see if you can advance timing or something to cool it down.
