Hey you know that orange rubber valve thing that goes above the accelerator pump? Which way does it get put in? Does the big part go in the float bowl or in the accelerator pump side?
Does it have a nipple on it? If so, the nipple end goes inside the float bowl and the big end stays outside towards the diaphragm.

That is the inlet valve. It is a one-way valve that opens to allow fuel in the pump and then closes to make the fuel go into the shooters. It operates a lot like the valves in your heart.
