R-12 AC filler hose...

    Does anyone have an old R-12 filler hose that they don't need anymore (especially if you've converted to R-134). I have 2 or 3 cans of R-12, and of course my Mav needs to be re-charged, so I figured I might as well use the R-12 I've got rather than convert it. However, I do not have the filler hose (my Dad used to have one, but either threw it away or misplaced it). If anyone has one laying around, let me know what you need for it and I'll decide what direction is the best way to go.

    Any thoughts on just selling the R-12 cans on eBay and converting the system to R-134?

    Hey, thanks for the link. However, would I need a filler kit with a "gauge" so I can tell when it's full, or is that not necessary?....

    It's very necessary.

    You need more than just a hose.

    You need 2 hoses, a set of gauges and vacume pump.

    I take that back... 3 hoses.

    One from high side to gauges, and one from low side to gauges and then the hose listed in the ebay add from the gauges to the can of freon

    Fill it till the clutch stays pulled in. Or find an Air Conditioning guy to do it for you, R12 has no real value, there are alternatives. If you lived closer to me I'd fix you up. Refrigerant doesn't ware out, if it's leaking now, it'll still leak, fix the leak before you spend good money after bad.

    I agree on that also...

    Ive used the new freon w/ the stopleak in it and it works wonders. Fixed 2 vehicles that I done.

    Hi there,

    I have gauges and the know-how to help you and I don't live to far from ya. If you still need help, send me a PM and we can arrange to meet up somewhere. :)

    R-12 is actually much better than R-134a in many circumstances, If your system is just a tad low, you don't want to go through the rigamrole to switch over and you have access to some R-12, stick with it! Your Maverick system was designed to use it, so use it if you can! ;)
