I have read that the 69 ranchero rear brakes fit our cars. Is that the only year? Or can you use 67-69? Or more?

Assuming Mav is five lug and with the correct backing plate, any of the '68-'71 intermediate plus Mustang/Cougar(thru '73) should fit... Problem is not all actually had large brakes, Ranchero, stw wgn with third seat, and big block models are where the larger brakes were used...

Are you specifically looking for 2-1/4 inch brakes for the rear? Then the 69 Ranchero likely had them if it had a 351 and 9 inch rear. Not sure, but the 302 or 6 cylinder Rancheros probably used the 1-3/4 or 2 inch rear brake shoes. Those would typically come with 8 inch pumpkins.
