I have a 1970 Ford Maverick and I was at the junkyard today and found a 76 Granada. Will the rear end which is a Ford 9 just swap inot my Maverick? Also can I take the front spindels off the Granada and put em on the Mav?

Sure can! Finding a complete Granada like that is like hitting paydirt. What's the interior like? You can also swap front seats and console if it has one.

My disc brake 9 inch came out of a Granada Ghia as did all of the front end parts to convert to 5 lug disc.

If it's a V8 car, the tranny crossmember is a double hump and it will fit too.

What are the years of Granada that are "paydirt"?

    They were made 75-81.
Granada/Monarch/Versilles were all the same basic platform.
There is very little pattern to how they installed the "paydirt" parts.
Versilles were pretty much all the same: V8/Auto/9"/4 wheel discs.
However the Granada/Monarch cars could be has with a variety of parts during any year of the production run. No matter the year or engine.
You will find 7.5", 8", and 9" rears, no matter year or engine.
    I found my 9" in an 81 Monarch I6...
Some 9" rears got discs, but again, no rime or reason.
I just make it a habit to look under each and every Granada/Monarch I see. Never know.
I used to look ONLY under V8 cars, figuring they would never put a 9" behind an I6... I found a yard with the 81 Monarch, but I couldn't get the hood up to see if it had a V8, so I dug through the weeds and dirt to find a 9"!
When they raised the car with a loader, to torch out the rear for me, I saw that the car was an I6!
If I could have gotten the hood up, I never would have looked under it, and never got the 9" out of it.
Then the yard looked up the price of the rear on the computer... It was 70 bux! Looking at the reciept later, I noticed it listed the rear as 8".

    Edit: Forgot the front discs!
They ALL have those. Get every set you find. I do.
I have heard some say that I6 cars had smaller brakes than V8 cars, but I have not found that to be true. Every set I have seen is identical, and if you look up the part numbers, they are all identical between I6 and V8 cars.

Thanks guys. Yeah the Granada is a 250 six and I couldnt believe it when I saw the 9 under there! I was so happy to see that cause I was dreading having to find 9 inch donor car. They want about 80-90 bucks without brakes and 129 with. Not sure what they want for the front end stuff yet but I am guessing it will be around 100 or so bucks. The only thing that suxs is that I have to wait till pay day (bout a week and a half or so) to get the stuff so I hope its still there!
