I have a chance to buy a complete 8" rearend with a posi and 3.50 gears for a reasonably price, less than you can get a posi center section for on ebay.Anyway, its out of a `67-`69 Mustang. Is this the same rear as in the Mavericks? I don`t remember what year mustangs used the same rearend as our cars, just want to make sure, either way I can still use it for the center section, just easier to swap the whole thing.I know the `67-`69 ones were a lil wider than the `64-`66 ones.

The '64-'66 Mustangs had the same housing width as factory 8 inch Comets and Mavericks.
I would measure it however. Even though the '67 & '68 rear was slightly wider,
there is no guarantee that what you are looking at is an original equipment
rear in the car that it resides now.
Measure it and compare it to yours. Check back plate to back plate and center
to center on the leaf springs.

    Good luck.

I'd buy it just for the center section...

I'd do the same. then scrub up the housing with your old center section in in and stick it back on ebay.
