I feel stupid asking this as I've rebuild engines and transmissions, but its important so here goes...

The rear distribution block on the axle. It has a rubber brake line goin into it with the two metal lines goin to both wheel cylinders. Then it has a hose comming off the top of it and running somewhere into the frame twords the rear of the car.

Would I be correct in assuming this is the rear axle vent line? That hose dry-rotted and is completly hanging off the block. I can see wet fluid on the bottom of the axle where it has been leaking, but when the brake is pressed, nothing comes out.

    Hope thats all it is.
