this is a stupid question i know but heres my video where i swapped out the factory 70 rear for another i bought. is the replacement a 9 inch? i didnt really give much thought to it until i realized it looks a lot the rear in my old 70f100. thats the only other one i ever dealt with. at my teenager job pulling cars apart at a junkyard i also mainly saw 9".

You have a 8 inch rear, quickest and easiest way to tell, if you can use a socket on all 10 nuts, it is 8 inch, on the 9 inch the bottom 2 nuts you have to use a wrench, as there is no room to use a socket..........

    :agreed: - for sure 8"

And you are lucky ….. it still has the ID tag. That will tell you exactly what it is and when it was made.
