rear shocks...

    went looking for a set of rear shocks for my...2dr, 1973, V8 (w/cam) Ford Maverick Grabber with A/C...street car...

    options were...KYBs ... air shocks...:yup:
    I was wanting to replace them with the...stock type.
    ...any suggestions?

    Frank, are looking for other options instead of KYB and airshocks? If so,

    Monroe: Front 33059 Rear 32103
    Gabriel: Front 81076 Rear 82130

    I have only used the Monroes, with A/C, V8. Worked fine for me.

    KYB's are pretty good, I've got them on my car, they aren't too stiff, if that's what you are thinking.

    I'm on my second set of Monroes and like them. A friend has KYBs on his 72 Grabber and likes em.

    The mav is gone but i'm still here!
    Toss them in the thrash. Air shocks are no good in our cars, they will rip the mounts off.

    Not always.. I ran mine for many years and no damage. You just can't max them out. I would lean on not using them because of poor cornering. BUT, poor cornering for me was when I tried them at the top. I did try them filled to the top and it was bouncy stiff and horrible around corners. I am glad I decided at that point to reduce the air to just below the top otherwise it could have done something..
