Anyone know where to find new rear springs for a 71 comet?

I laurelmustang and they have some but the shackle support end is the wrong diameter and they dont carry to correct bushings. I found some on ebay but they guy said they are out of stock. Anyone know of a good source other than auto krafters 270$ pair?

Try www.generalspringkc.com I got a set from them last Sept. they cost me $251.00 shipped. At that time they only had 4 leafs. They will raise the rear of car a few inches and mine ride a little stiff "IMO". Some folks don't mind the ride but I plan on removing one "bottom" leaf.

my 71 is in need of a new set, I THINK! the rear end sags even with new shocks. it could be because the motor is out, you know optical? but with all i plan for this car, i sure would like to lift the rear to give it a better profile. anyone have any idea's?

Try www.generalspirngkc.com they have 4 leaf that will lift the rear a few inches, but, be prepared for a little stiffer ride. I have a set on my car.

Leaf springs on the Maverick came in different spring rates...same as coil springs. Counting the leafs has nothing to do with the spring rate. Some 3-leaf springs had 634 lbs and some 3-leaf have 779 lbs. Some 4-leaf had 687 lbs.

You can blindly buy what they have on the web or have the spring company custom make them for around the same price...but be ready to wait on the part

I bought my four leaf springs from Laurel Mountain Mustang. The car now sits 1/2 inch higher than it did with the old springs and 90psi in air shocks. I now also have regular Monroematic shocks.

For those of you who don't know I own General Spring and here's the breakdown of the spring situation. Most of you know the JRS springs which is what other places carry and I do as well when they are available but they are not currently available so the other spring I carry which you guys received on your group buy and many others after are the improved handling springs with a 807 spring capacity and 142 spring rate so they do ride stiffer than the regular 4 leaf but they are designed that way on purpose. I have 16 of the improved handling springs available right now so no back order if interested.
