Hi, have not posted for some time. But now a rear wheel bearing is giving up. My mav is a mid 70. It has the 8 in rear, seems to be original as it has 4 bolt axle flanges (that have been bored for 5). But the normal 8 in bearing does not fit. I measured the old one and it seems to be close to the bearing of a 7.5 in rear, but is it? Does anyone know. Could not find anything with search. This faulty bearing might be one reason for the exsessive roadnoise I complained about, the noise a rear bearing gives long before it goes is a little like roadnoise.

The old bearing itself will have a "bearing # itched on the race, this is a international number,it can be cross referanced to any manufacturer (timkin,SKS,NSK )etc. Get that number and You got the right bearing.

That i tried to do but i did not remove the bearing yet and no numbers on the outher race. I wanted to go home from the garage. It´s not at my place. And you can still drive some miles, but not for long.

Here's two bearing #s both are Timken

    RW-207-CCRA

    RWF34R

Any of these match what You have?

These are from a four bolt wheel.

Cost here is $13.99 and $24.99 USD,

Yes the RVF-207-CCRA was the one, it did fit. Thanks. The catalogs do list the much bigger bearing for mavs 70 -.
Now the roadnoise appears normal. Obviously the bearing did make more and more noise much before it went real bad. And soon i can enjoy some traction, spring is coming. It really goes.
