    Hi,

I have been reproducing plastic parts for the old Ferrari's, and now that I own a Comet, I would like to do something for Comets. I was wondering if there were any plastic parts you guys would like to see reproduced.
Last night I was looking at my Comets tail lights, they look kind of old, I guess after 30 plus years thats expected. I dont know if anyone makes Comet tail lights yet, but If I could reproduce a brand new looking tail light, would anyone be interested in buying a set? Making the molds are expensive so I would have to do something that alot of people would want.

    Ben

You talking about the lens? THey are a dime a dozen and are available readily NOS. Used ones BUFF out to look like new so I don't think you would sell any ...

EDIT: Never Mind ... I see you are talking about Comet's ... not Mavericks ... :slap:

Well, I see not to make the maverick lens. :slap:

What about the door panel emblems or the GAS Cap?

    Door panel emblem....

...is just a sticker on the chrome circle. Gas caps, they come up quite a bit on E-bay in good shape.

How about grilles? Someone could do okay repopping door panels-althought that is not plastic-totally anyway.

Knobs are usually not an issue. Front turn signal lenses are repopped-borrowed from Mustangs and Cougars. I really can't think of any hard to find pieces in plastic. Can you do aluminum? Headlight rings would be popular I bet.

Reproduce dash knobs. They interchange between Mavericks and Comets.

I would be a buyer on some of those. Great idea!

I agree, almost every set I have come across is covered with green crap or the chrome plating is peeling off.

How about that plastic panel around the heat/ac controls. Ever try to remove one? Those $%^$# things....I broke 5 before I got one in a u-pull it yard. And it's not even the right one. My car was original without ac but had the rear defogger. If you make one, I'll take it in black with chrome trim;)

Hey Comick, I wrote an article on how to remove those without breaking them and how to change the ac/non-ac insert to the one you need. I put it in PDF format. Give me your email and I'll send it to you.

Are the ones on my 71 the same as the others? I would need a good one to make a mold from.
