The ignition of the 302 in my REO is still points type and I like it because I can fix it in the field with a matchbook cover. BUT, it has a resistor wire and I haven't a clue what ballast resistor I could replace it with.

Can anyone help me with this?

I hear people say that the dodge ballast resistor is a good replacement for it.
If you ever went to solid state I bet you would never go back. I can still fix my solid state ignition out in the field as well I just have to carry a couple of extra parts.
I am running a cross bred set up using the 4 pin module out of an HEI set up and a Duraspark distributor. Works well and easy to work on

I agree with Clint 100%. I'll never use points again.
