    74 Comet 4 door
Hi, I joined this board about a year and a half ago. At the time, I had a 74 4-door Comet given to me by a moving neighbor. They were about to send it to the junk yard. They knew I worked on cars, and asked me if I would take care of it for them. They did not want to bother with dealing with the junk yards. It ran GREAT, and only had 60k box "A" original miles on it. I got on here because I wanted to fix it up, and learn more about it, and maybe have a way of finding parts. I needed a grill and found one. I later had to pass on the grill, because my wife and I split up. She took the Comet. Well about 5 months later, we got back together. Oh yea, my wife and I did, also!! Well she has been using the Comet as her daily driver. It has been our only car for about 10 months. Well we just got another car, and now the Comet is all mine. I work at home , and only use it to take my daughter to and from school.
My daughter (9 years old) and I were looking through a Hot Rod mag a few weeks ago. We saw the thing on how 4 doors are no becoming cool. Well we all know that now that Hot Rod says so. Now we ALL can think that. ( I have been a big wagon fan from when wagons were NOT cool. Use to by them all day long, until Hot Rod said they were cool. Then the prices went throught the roof!!) Well She and I have desided to start on fixing the Comet up. We are going to go for it. Cool paint and wheeks. Maybe even go for an engine swap later with a 5.0. Who knows. I told her that if she wants to work with me building the car. It is hers when she turns 16. She is STOKED!!!!
Anywho. I am back, and I believe I will be a regular here. Hope to make some new internet friends.
    Later
    Matt
