Would it be "proper" to show up at the 2006 Roundup with a dented and primered Mav?

I would love to make it again, and stay the week this time, but she won't be pretty yet!

But she runs reeeeeeely good

Well Scott, I don't know. But I do know yours won't be the uglyest one there at least. :)

As long as it is a 71-77 Comet or 70-77 Maverick, Bring it!
I guess if you have a Brazilian car it could be up to 79. :bouncy:

    definitely bring it.
the round-up is always more about the people than the car. Atleast in my opinion.

There was a picture from the 10th, where a guy sheared off all his lugs on the rear driver side...I assume this was an open rear? Makes me glad I have a spool.

I checked out all the pictures from 3rd to 10th...mine is uglier by far.

I have just spent all my time working on the motor and drivetrain, and then had a fire under the "firewall" so I lost my carpet. I have new seats, but no carpet, and a bunch of bondo and fiberglass. Then spoler and small bumper convert from a rusted out old grabber, so the valences are white, bumper dinged, and some of the chrome is gone.

Can we do an "Ugliest/Fastest" contest, where we do a formula where (UGLY + ET + MPH) / 3.141597 = a value that we can compare and contest, where UGLY is on a scale of 1-100.

its better to show up with a mav/comet in any condition than to not show up at all, just say it's a work in progress...like mine is!!!!

Todd has a spool in his car....the breakage was due to a violent wheel hop :yup: I would also include the fact that he had wheel spacers on there :evilsmile
But we had more fun fixing it and making fun of him than anything else :D

just because its a little "weathered" is no reason for it to be not allowed,.... and if they turned away a maverick at a maveick show, that would be poor Etiquette..

    just my opinion..

    good luck

My car is showing it's wear and tear from a hard 10 years since it's last semi pro resto(ok I wasn't that good back then) of racing and street abuse. I drove it alot!!!!!! I felt like my car was garabage next to some of the super nice cars. Example Dan Hines sweet ride, Dan Starnes awesome stallion, The presidents bitchin grabber, and on and on and on......but I still had fun and I guarantee you will too!!!!!! Didn't you show up for a few hours this year on your way to a family function??

It does not matter what condition the car is in. Rough cars sometimes get looked at more cause they are usually in state of being built. Too me,, it is fun watching them progress. Greg Crawleys cars is a fine example. That car looks really sweet now.

Take it from the 1st annual "Ugly Duckling" winner (er, "jewel in the rough"), it's MUCH better to be there with your car than without it. Went two years in a row without it. Was NOT going to show up without my car this year.
