Hey guys i know this has probably been mentioned before but cant find the thread was wondering how many quarts would i need of rust bullet to do the entire car. i want to do the whole car top to bottom interior and exterior and undercarriage. and also how many coats would i need to do. thanks
my 74 maverick has vinyl on top haven't taken it off yet preparing for the worse so figured i would do the entire car with it
I have lots of experience with RB and it would be a mistake to do the parts of the car you want to look smooth and perfect like the exterior. It is excellent for floor pans and under carriage. Even painted engine blocks with it. But it doesn't sand down mirror smooth like a good primer does and it makes for an imperfect surface. As for quantity. I am thinking from memory it took about 1 quart for interior floor pans (absolutely must be 2 coats to properly seal) and probably 3 quarts for complete under side with engine bay plus trunk. here is a test subject I did 10 years ago, it still looks the same... no prep, just painted it over the rust and bird dirt... one coat.
That is pretty much what I do. If you think of all the surface that you would wax and polish and want that glass like look to it - that is NOT where you want RB. So for me the main body exterior is out. I use the proper primers and sealers there.
