I have a gas tank with some rust spots inside, so everytime i put a new fuel pump it gets clog. well now i dont have the necessary cash to replace a fuel tank and here in CA is pretty hard to find a place to get the sealing done. so i was wondering.....
If i install a gas filter before the pump and one right out of the gas tank, will prevent my pump to get clogged again? i know ill have to replace fuel filters very often but maybe this will be a ok temporary solution until i get my fuel tank replaced/sealed? and if so, can i use a bigger filter than the one used for my maverick? like those big plastic ones? or just the little metallic ones will do just fine as long i put em in the right place?
thank u all for any help

Since you have a 1974 maverick, you can get a brand new gas tank from www.gastanks.com. The cost is $129. This is your best solution.
