Shelby drop shock problem

I was wondering if someone can help me out. I did the 1 " Shelby drop and I don't have the motor or trans in yet. I went to put the shocks in and there to short. I'm thinking the shock towers will lower once the engine is in. Has anybody had this problem. Thanks in advance.

 

You have to install shocks after engine compresses the springs ...

I noticed this a couple weeks ago when I preformed the modification myself. The problem I see is after you install the shock, if the front end gets jacked up the weight of the suspension and wheel is then hanging on the shock which can't be a good thing.

 

You can buy a longer shock - I think Koni sells them with any mount you want to pay for.
