Monroes are just fine for normal driving, but for performance, KYB is better.

Air Shocks place too much load on the top mounts and where they attach to the body, ending in damage to the sheetmetal under the trunk area.

Do you know if anyone on the board has actually tried the Ride Tech shocks? They are mega expensive.

What did you have on there before, and how do the KYBs compare? I noticed that the KYBs listed for Mavericks are a twin-tube design, Mono-tube is supposed to be for "performance" and has a higher pressure gas charge, but they don't list a mono-tube for the Maverick. Someone here adapted a mono-tube for a Nissan truck to his Maverick, but I wonder if the length would be correct. I also heard that additional mounting hardware is necessary.

I don't know what was on the car b4 I went to KYB - G2/Excel series. They were on the car when I bought it. I had a bushing on the drivers side front shock sliding back/fwd on the stud and decided to go w/ all new shocks, since I had all new springs.
The shocks were not worn out or leaking, just had the loose eye-bushing moving around. I cud tell the difference immediately in ride quality. I was not lookin to do autocross, circle track or any other competition type motoring, so these serve me well for just cruising. I don't want to get into the realm of suspension design - I will use what was designed to work on the car and enjoy the ride. What are the chances of modifying the car to use mono-tube/hi-pressure and wind up w/ a car you don't want to drive? I'm wondering if the person who adapted the Nissan setup ever commented on what was gained, if anything?

I have QA1 shocks on the rear of mine. They are adjustable.
