My Comet has a absolutly mint hood.Should i cut it? I would try to get another hood for it but i can't match the paint on the car.And as for putting the scoop on with out cutting a hole,it's not going to happen. If it's not functional it shoulden't be there.Derek.

If the rest of your car is mint ... the hood should be too ... If I had a show quality Comet and wanted a functional Hood Scoop ... I'd cut it ... very carefully ... but I'd cut it ... Measure 10X ... Cut 1X .... :)

Have you seen the string trick for measuring and cutting holes in your hood?

I'd find a spare and cut it. Save the mint one.

well, its a big choice but i would agree with the others,,buy another one and mount it,,paint the other with black stripe,,that way maybe less blue...and if it doesn't work ,,you'll have the original,,,i like to have options,,not stuck with it now too late to go back,,,:slap:

The pain issues are that the paint color was mixed wrong, and i don't have any extra[the car was painted when i bought it] i went to the paint store and bought some the color code that it is suppose to be and it is pretty far off very noticeable.Maybee i'll just repaint the car.Derek

I wasn't meaning to imply that you could match it.
I was just telling them why you dont want to get another hood... they might have misread it
