LOOKING FOR HELP IAM LOOKING TO BUY A 1971 GRABBER, 3 SPEED BUT IT HAS A SIX CYL ENG AND 4 LUG WHEELS. MY QUESTION IS DID REAL GRABBERS COME THIS WAY, I THOUGHT THEY ALL HAD 302'S AND 5 LUG RIMS. ANY HELP ON THIS MATTER WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS BRYAN
My Grabber is also a '71(Production #000052, built in Aug 1970) and originally came with a 250cid 6cyl, a bench seat, column shift and of course 4 lug wheels. It currently sports a mild 351W, buckets, a floor shifter and a 5bolt 9" rear. The front 4bolt brakes ar the next to go.
My Grabber is exactly the same way, 4 lug rims, 3 speed, 200 I6, manual everything. Sounds like you might have a Kansas City Mav try decoding the VIN # you can do it here Click Here. I found out thats where mine was made, certain Ford Assembly Plants did certain things I have not seen another Grabber like mine.
My 71 Grabber also has a 200-6 and 3-spd on the floor, 4-lug rims. But sorry, Joe, mine was made in Canada.
Grabber71-a '71(Production #000052, built in Aug 1970) Same here, 200-6, 3-spd column shift and 4-lug wheels. It's funny, Grabber71's was built in Aug of 70 and considered a 71 model, mine was built in July of 70 and is a 70.
