what if i drilled two holes(3/8 inch) onto the drivers side shock tower brace and used that as a mounting place for the throttle bracket.
i would put it on upside down

I recently put the kick down lever adapter and it wont go back all the way to idle.

will this effect structural integrity of the brace.

    anybody done this before?

Won't interfere with the brace, but if I read you correctly, you are thinking of using your shock tower as the solid mount for your throttle cable? Instead of the top of the manifold?

As your engine rocks and vibrates on it's mounts, it will make your car accelerate and decelerate, and most likely, would wear out the moving parts on the carb much quicker. The throttle plates will be vibrating and opening/closing constantly as the engine wobbles in the engine bay.

Stick with using the mount on the intake. That way it will move with the engine, and the carb linkages will not have to endure the constant vibration and motion, but the carb cable will, which is what it is meant for.

Or am I misunderstanding what you are doing here?

Lokar cables look real good - and they better for the money you pay. If you can find a factory piece with the brackets you are money ahead. Lokar cables do look nice though, if you want to spend the money.
