starter solenoid wires???

    i need help with my solenoid wires the 2 that small wires that just aslide on to the connectors one is the battert side and the other is switch whcih u all know that but anyways mine where both unplugged and now i cant remember which one is whci can anyone help me determine ,im color blind and cant really tell .I do think one wire is slighty bigger than the other but cant be for sure thanx for any help

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    The "S" wire, red with a blue tracer ( I know it doesnt help) Goes to the terminal closest to the front of the car. The "I" wire, red with a brownish yellow tracer goes to the terminal closest to the starter cable... I will post a pic for you...

    Just take a guess. If it works it works. If it doesn't change them around. It will start only one way.

    If they are backwards the engine will try and start just as you release the key from the start position. IN other words while you have the key in the crank position the engine will run or at least try to. Soon as you release the key the engine will die. Been there and done that. lol
