Is it hitting the headers themselves, or the intermediate pipe. and how much clearance do you need? I had to heat and tap in my pipe just behind the headers to get it to turn, i was just barely hitting though. But if you're running long tubes, then I cant help ya.

If it's that bad, you'd be better off to swap out to manual steering. I did and have no problems with my 6901 Hookers......

I kept my power steering and have 6901's. There is a bit less ability to turn left. I haven't had time to investigate what I am hitting on.

When you install long tube headers you will need to install a power steering drop off bracket. I believe Auto Krafters sells them. If I misread your post and you have already installed the drop off bracket and you are asking for an addtional 3" you have the wrong headers.

The drop bracket is not used in manual steering applications, so it will not help you. What model hedmans are you using? There are a few people running hedmans, so maybe someone with the same model can help.

Oh, and welcome to the forum! :tiphat:

I have the 88400. I call myself doing the research and asking the right question. But I guess I was wrong. Summits tech department obviously never built a maverick

Ok, I know there are other people using the 88400 series.
Is the pitman hitting the flange? Or is it just in the way of the exhaust pipe after the header? I have heard it is tight and some people have to use a sharp turn right after the flange.

Yes 302 as far as mounts Im not sure I bought it with the 302 and a c6 in it. I have looked up the numbers and it was a 6 cylinder car at birth.
