i didn't mean to get you mad i was just listin what the guys grandson and daughter (her name is the one on the title) told me to list for prices. she told me if i could get the title to her she would sign it over. but how i got the car off her dads land was up to me and her son, so i got the owners permision to take it but it's sittin on her dads land not hers so ya see it woukldn't really be stealin i just put down what she told me to see what you though it was worth
Please use better judgement next time you are in a similar situation. If you get caught, that criminal record will be with you for the rest of your life.
I don't get it. Apparently the official owner of the car, has allowed the car to sit at her(?) father's junkyard. The title is still in her name? She is willing to sign it over to you? There is never anyone at the yard? Why wouldn't you go find Grandpa and tell him that you want it and that the official owner wants you to have it. Sounds like a family squabble to me. If you want it bad enough, it may be worth stirring up the bee's nest. I agree with previous posts, I wouldn't just go get it without quizzing Grandpa. Seth
Just a thought, But a car that has been sitting on someone elses property for an extended period of time would become the property of the land owner reguardless of who holds the title. I guess it would be concidered abandoned if the owner made no attempt to remove it ....So if you were to remove it without the owners permission it could and probably would be concidered grand theft auto... Thats what judge judy said anyway ...
I talked to an lawyer who is part of our car club here in Ilinois, and this is what he had to say. 1. If the daughter is legal owner of the car, has the pink slip and sells it to you, it is legaly yours. (as long as the Junk yard its self dosent have a lein on it for some reason or another) 2. You cannot tresspass to retreive the car. You can go to court to have them release the car legally. In doing so the only thing the junk yard can do is demand any finantial obligation before releasing it (charges for storage, or repairs done to the car, etc...). He also said there wernt enough facts to give more details, and because it is in another state you have to check with the local and state laws. my 2 cents Glen
have her send a tow truck to bring it to her house. you pay the tow bill and take the car home....frank...:bananaman :bananaman
ok ok it's time to put this little discussionm to a rest i'm goin out to the place tomorrow to talk to old man Davis (he owns the land) he's goin to be out there around noon lodin up an old truck he sold and i'm goin to ask him about the car so to put this to rest i'm gona offer him 75 bucks and see were that gets me. i talk to him on the phone yesterday night and he said he wasn't sure what car i was talkin about but if i pointed it out to him he would decide wether or not he would be willin to let me pull it out if your confused like me what i meant to say was this i asked him about the car he wasn't sure what i was talkin about he said he'd probably just let me have it but if he's says no to takin it i'l offer him 75 and see were it gets me i'm all CORNFUSED :bananaman :bananaman :bananaman
This is a good example of what happens when you don't make your real intentions clear on posts here. They're open to misinterpretation..as I've found myself. Yes, I've put my foot in it before, too. Sometimes, it's better to think before you post. I know! Good luck with acquiring the car. Just remember, it makes no difference to the courts whteher the vehicle is owned by a stranger or family. Grand theft auto is still a felony, boneyard car or brand new, and intent matters not.
