    Hey Blu,

If I am not mistaken that is a engine mount bolt hole, correct? Heli-Coil it and be done with it. Just make shure that you get the drill and tap straight when you do. It can be a be-ach to do that in the car but no impossable, Just take your time and all will come out good. And by the way it is not pipe thread!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think they are 7/16 course.
    Good luck
    Don

I guess the threads are to far gone to run a repair tap through it. To bad it is on the drivers side where the torque effects it the most.

Though not intentional (or was it), but the title of this thread is an attention getter.

oh wow... not what i was thinking when i saw that link...

    hehe... j/k

tap it... helicoil it... make sure its straight.. yup.. they all covered it... i did this sort of stuff in the military.. take your time drilling.. DO NOT BURN UP THE BIT GOING TOO HOT.. it will make the metal in the hole harder and wont be as easy to drill

remember this when drilling.. HEAVY Feed ... SLOW SPEED... push hard and dont go full speed on the drill.. use cutting oil as well.. have someone squirt a little while you are pushing and drilling.. it will make it easier since the block is in the car.. take your time..

wrap a piece of tape around the drill bit... about 1/2" to 1" (depending on how deep the hole is ) of an inch from the tip of the drill.. when the tape gets to the top of the hole.. then you know how far you have drilled...

dont drill too far as you are taking out the threads.. you dont want to "break through" the other side..

    good luck

Those of us with four daughters keep an eye out for such meanderings, especially when one of 'em (and her mother) gets on this forum from time to time to read postings.

when i am drilling...overhead... i put some grease on the bit, it will catch most of the shavings. i got this from a machine shop that was drilling an alumn. head and tapping a spark plug hole. the head was on the motor (y)...frank...:bouncy:
