Hello. I am new to this forum. I have recently acquired a 75 Maverick with a beefed up 302. I am running 10.0 to 1 high compression KB pistons, trick flow aluminum heads, EB intake and 750 carb. ect, about 375 h.p,my question is ialso have a 5psi supercharger that will fit with little modification, probably get another 60 h.p or so, is it wise to do this with my compression ratio, I dont want to damage my motor and melt my pistons ect, Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.....Mark.

I know the racer types are going to tell you to go for it. I use to own a 79 Fairmont with a procharger on it which I ran on the street. If your only after 50 or 60 h.p. there are easier ways to do it ( n.o.s. or bolt-ons). Consider these items to do a blower properly: boost referenced fuel supply, improved floats, modified ( removed ) choke, blowoff valve, improved headgaskets and retaining hardware, oil return line and punching a hole in your oil pan ( if required ) and list goes on, Skip anything or cheap out and you have pile of melted aluminum. . Seems like a lot of work for a little gain, and your compression really is too high. Hitting high boost levels is a unreal feeling, but build a combination that can use it. Perhaps selling the blower and using the $$ for other speed parts maybe a better solution.:thumbs2:
