Hey, all you Jawja Boys! Earl Branham and I are going to the Moultrie swap meet tomorrow. Meet us there, or meet us along the way and ride with us. Here's the details on the trip: http://www.moultrieswapmeet.com/ Let me know if you want to ride with me and Earl and I'll give you directions to meet up with us.
IF we see a NOS Grabber and depending on price, I imagine it will be a fight to the finish and the survivor will come home with it. That will make the price go up very, very high. I bet the hood will be right in between the NOS quarter panels and NOS battery tray side apron.
"the hood will be right in between the NOS quarter panels and NOS battery tray side apron" ...i'll take one of each. stop by on the way and i will give you a check (you can fill in the amount when you buy it) ...frank... yea! right!
Thousands of people, several hundred cars for sale, over 300 vendors and folks selling parts, and one Maverick anything on the whole field...Earl's rear bumper from Bumber Boyz...preorderd...replacing the one they brought him in November.
Earl got a fantastic bumper; much, much better than that first one. Believe it or not, the only money we spent at the swap meet was the price of the ticket to get in. We waited to eat lunch after we left. Does that qualify for Ripley's?
I came thru Moultrie yesterday on the way back from Lake City, Fl. I wondered what was going on with all the old cars I seen in town and at the fairgrounds, figured it was a show or something, sure wish I hadda stopped and checked it out! Didn't know if I could get the big truck in there though, some places frown on us parking at events like that. I sure hope the guy in the red 64 Galaxie is not cussing me, I met him going south on hwy 133 just south of the fairgrounds, after he went by, his fiberglass hood flew off! I was checking him out in my mirror after he went by cause I love the old Galaxies and seen the hood go flying over the car following him! Ibet it went 50 feet in the air, flipping end over end, and landed right in the southbound lane ! Must have had it open showing off the engine and forgot to pin it back. I was then meeting a couple of trucks and got on the radio and told'em to whoa right quick. One of them answered back and said the guy was getting the hood out of the road, looked like it had broke off at the hinges..ouch! Sure hope he don't blame me for blowing it off, wouldn't my fault the fellow didn't latch it properly!
You can get an airplane in there. It is held at an old Army Air Field called Spence Field. It is a humongus area. You could've parked with no problems.
Just my trucking luck! Give us a little more advance notice next time there is one going on, I go thru that way a good bit now going to Fla hauling shingles down and most of the time empty back up, love swap meets, usually full of old, odd, overpriced stuff!
Go back to my first post and click the link. The swap meet is held twice per year - the weekend before Thanksgiving and the weekend before the start of speed weeks in Daytona.
OOPS! I guess I missed that one Hawko, just being home on the weekends will do that for you. Now if I could be excused, I have a number 13 foot to get out of my mouth!
Ah, yes. the 'ol hoof 'n mouth disease. It eventually affects everybody. There are advantages to wearing a 7 1/2 EEE. Though wide, it is not very very long and will not choke.
