can any body tell me what wire to splice into for the illumination wire for the tach. It is to hard for me to trace the wires back to the gauge lights on the dash. thanks:confused:

I have a Sun SuperTach ll, and the yellow wire is for the illumination. I ran it off of the fuse panel, on the ignition.

Funny story about wiring.. When I put my engine in for the first time(high school) I wired the tach to a positive wire under the dash. With my dad watching the engine fired it up for the notorious cam break-in period. After a frew minutes at 2500rpm I bumped the turn signal. Suddenly my tach was oscillating wildly! I yelled to dad "What do I do?" thinking I was grenading my first ever engine build! He calmly suggested I turn off the blinker to which I had accidently wired my tach power wire! :)

The easiest place I found to pick up power for the light is the wire that lights up the radio, it's connected to the dash lights.
