The product from web electric works great too. I've used it before. (y)

Yep, the stuff from webelectric is great. I used their universal kit on my '72 when I put my Caprice lights on about 3 years ago. The car is my primary vehicle, I've put about 70,000 miles on it since then and the sequential lights are still working great.

The main issue I had with my tail light swap was that the original Mav lights only have one light bulb in them for the brake light/tail light. Like the Cougar lights, my Caprice lights have 3 bulbs each in them. In my case I found the original wiring to be insufficient to power 6 bulbs. I ran a new 12 gauge wire straight from the battery back to the tail panel and mounted three relays on the tail panel. One relay turns the tail lights, rear side marker lights and license plate light on. The other two relays handle the brake lights on either side and turn signals. So the actual power that is lighting all the lights up is coming straight from the battery through that 12 gauge wire, and all the car's original wiring has to do is switch the relays on and off, which takes very little power.

Another thing I did was switch to 2057 tail light bulbs. These bulbs have a slightly dimmer tail light then the 1157 bulb, and a brighter stop light/turn signal then the 1157, so it just gives more definition to the turn signals when the tail lights are on.
