Will a 65 / 67 Mustang tank work on my 74 Mav? I found a full kit with sender etc. for $125 at Mustangs Unlimited, and I work about 2 miles from them so I don't have to pay shipping.

I have, but it doesn't specify year of the replacement tank. Just says "early". I'm assuming 65 - 67 is "early".

    Thanks

If you look in a mustang catalog, you will see the tank is the same for 65-68. Someone on here went with the 69-70 tank and said it also worked ok. More capicity

well I bought the 65 - 68 tank yesterday and it is way to big. My biggest issue is that I still have a stock muffler in that area and the centered tank is an isue with this. I have the old tank in my car so I'm going go back by and see a later model will work.

I may also think about trying to move my muffler over. I still like the idea of the centered tank just incase some day I do change the motor and need to but duals on. I don't want have to change the tank again.

OK forget that last message I'm using the one I got and we'll have to move the muffler.

I'll be bugging you for exhaust questions next!

If I recall correctly, that's actually the resonator, the muffler is in front of the axle. When I got my exhaust replaced years ago, they got rid of all that and just put a muffler back in front of the axle.
