hey guys its been a couple months since I posted last so I figured I would let everyone know how my maverick has been! and by the title u can tell that some of it is good, bad, and definitely ugly.

    The Good

so for the past few months I have been upgrading my car and throwing quite a bit of money at it and its been totally worth it! the biggest thing I have did is replace all of my front suspension and even rebuilt the powersteering control valve, I have also put some new tires and rims on.

here is a list of the new parts:
    • dorman upper and lower control arms with ball joints
    • moog tie rod ends, center links and pitman arm
    • new front calipers
    • 4 new tires, cooper cobra gt's on the front and hancook ventus h101 on the back
    • kyb performance shocks all the way around
    • I put led's in my marker lights, turn signals, and taillights
    • sunpro tachometer and 3 pod gauge cluster
    • igniter electronic ignition
    • rebuilt power steering control valve
    • and I am goin g to replace the rotors and wheel bearings this weekend
    The Bad

after I put all this stuff in and started driving it around for a couple months I started h aving runnability issues. It would just fall on its face whenever you would give it gas, so I went the the carb... again and found nothing. I checked the fuel lines and found nothing again.... I went to my coil and checked that too since it was an aftermarket msd. I replaced it with a oem coil and it ran good for a couple days and then started doing the same thing. I then checked points and they were bad which was weird since it only had 1500 miles on it but I changed t hem and it still wouldn't run... finally I asked my auto instructor and he told me to check the resistor in the distrubter, I changed it and it works finally! it took me a week just to find it was a $2 part and a month later I changed to electronic ignition to get rid of all that

    The Ugly

and finally we come to the ugly.... the worst thing that has happened to my car yet..... somebody backed into my car while it was parked on the street. ya I was in my garage mind ing my own business when all of a sudden I heard a big bang and I knew instantly what it was, I ran outside only to see my whole rear quarter panel was smashe d in about a foot.... I just stood there for about 5 minutes until the lady that hit me walked up and apologized, I was really surprised that I didn't blow up on her but I guess it was because I was in shock. I know that most ppl don't really care much about older cars and especially mavericks but to me its more th en a car and just looking at the big dent on my side just made me sick for a long time.... the good news about it tho is the fact that all she did was cosmetic damage, she bent my bumper but at leas she didn't bend the subframe or destroy my brand new tires and rims. the other good part is that im going to auto body for the next 2 years so I hope to get her all fixed up and painted! I will keep posted about the restoration project when I start it!

well there you h ave it guys! I hope you all enjoy my post and I have pics about all of the upgrades and the accident and more upgrades will definitely be in the cars future!
