thinking of buying a t5 trans.

    5 I have the chance to buy a t5 out of a '94 mustang gt. it comes with trans,shifter,crossmember,and bellhousing but 3rd gear is bad all for $150..does this sound like a fair deal?

    Do some research before you buy. There are so many variations, and there is a change in the input shaft length around 1993 (?) which can be another challenge. I've bought 2 complete 1989 World Class T5's for $250/ea, in good operating condition.

    Yes jus like Dave said in 94 they changed to a longer input shaft.Make sure you get everything,Bellhousing,fork along with the trans. I think the rebuild kit for a T-5 is around $180.00.... plus labor.

    thanks for the info.. he does have the bell but no fork....the seller says the 3rd gear is about $40

    These usually need more than a gear, 3 rd is common, but the rest will need work. Like Derek mentioned, Summit & Jegs sell rebuild kits, usually Ford Racing for a reasonable price. Last weekend on the Power Block, they showed a quick rebuild on one.

    well, I bit the bullet and bought the trans.. it did come out of a '94 Cobra GT and has the "Z" spec... does anyone have a clutch pedal assy? also a fork for a '94 T5 bellhousing

    i got my fork new for 15 bucks from the local auto parts store. its not worth getting a used one for that much
