Decided to make a pass or two being the weather was so nice and wanted to get the Fairmont up to the track so I could have the trailer empty to haul the Maverick up there when it is done. Just had to relay the results of the first run out of the box on the 347. RT-.506 60ft-1.46 330ft-4.32 1/8th ET-6.72 1/8th MPH-103.26 1000ft ET-8.6624 1000ft MPH-116.10 Hope this beginners luck holds out for points race in two weeks. Just for info, the cold weather starting on alky was a bit frustrating, so I installed a gasoline primer system from Ron's and it fires right up now. Is a bit pricy but saves the starter and having to prime with a squirt bottle.
where do you live today was nice out here as well.. in the mid 40's.. no chance in hell that the track would have been opened here... they dont have the volunteer day until first weekend in april.. so i still have about 2 months to get ready
dave, that's not beginners luck. that's what years and years of practice results in. face it, your good. good luck. i've gotta load up tomorrow. friday i'll be at the nationals at firebird (watching) and saturday is our 2nd points race.
Sounds like the ole Fairmont is doing you well I hope to see you up there soon I got the motor/tranny out of the mustang and im installing the pulleys and such onto the 302/C4 this week. Im awaiting a double hump crossmember for exhaust, and some headers but im dirt poor at the moment. Prob get headers and just take it to track for a while... can get exhaust some other time
my first time out ever at a track.. i was in my old 98 grand prix gtp.. i cut a .506 .504 and a .550 light first night out i havent cut a light better than a .620 in the maverick yet.. lol
