Great set of videos showing how a converter is build, how it works, and what parts do what. Long but worth watching.

Disclaimer: I'm not advertising for FTI. I use another guy local to me and have had excellent results. Although I'll give a thumbs up to Greg @ FTI for posting a video such as this-kind of takes some of the misconceptions out of how they're built. Also goes to show that pulling a converter out of a Jegs (or Summit or TCI or whatever) catalog (shelf one size fits all converter) will work-but it's not optimal. If your'e serious about racing, a custom converter is the "only" way to go, IMO. Costs more but generally they're better built, last longer, perform better (in some cases a LOT better) and more consistent. And when it's hurt, they're easier to repair.
