transmission leaking...HELP

    i have an original 3 gear transmission. its a 302 engine. i just changed the trans oil pan gasket but its still leaking trans oil, can it leak from the milleage reader thats right next to the trans on the driver side??? i would show you a picture but i dont know how to attach it :huh:

    Hi,
    you say..."3 gear transmission" and "trans pan gasket". if it's a C-4 it could so be leaking from the...shifter shaft seal...:yup:

    There are two seals at the shifter shaft - one seal and one O-ring. There is an O-ring on the speedo shaft, the cooler fittings, and the dipstick tube. The dipstick tubes sometimes crack near the O-ring groove.
