hi guys, so got another strange question here. Just recently this started, whenever I'm driving my car through the neighborhood or anywhere with stop and go traffic I go to give it gas and it just reves up high like its in neutral and doesn't go for a couple seconds then it seems like it catches and jerks me forward!? I know its slipping into neutral because it happened once when I was pulling it up my driveway and I took my foot off the break and it started rolling back! please help!!
for the record its an all stock 71 maverick

    thanks, Jakob

You can read through this thread to see if it may help. The person responsible for starting the thread is no longer an active member here on the forum, so posting a question in that thread is not advised... but perhaps your problem has already been answered there? Good luck.

I would start by checking the fluid level.

Next up is to check for vacuum leaks or a vacuum hose that has fallen off.
