My heater on my 70 mav doesnt work properly, keeps blowing the fuse. I replaced the blower fan and had the blower motor tested at a shop. I also had the wiring all tested at a shop for a short but they couldnt find anything. Any ideas as to why this fuse keeps blowing out on me?
wrap the fuse with ...tin foil..,put it back in, turn it on and where the smoke is coming from is the problem. J/K ...Frank...
The smoke test never fails. The only thing I have learned about that is that all electrical things run on smoke. And if you let the smoke out it does not work any more.
If you are using the right fuse, the fuse is held tightly in the holder and there are no shorts in the wiring then the motor is the only device that can be bad. Just because it is new doesn't mean it is good. I have seen lots of bad NEW parts!
Unplug fan motor, see if fuse blows. Then unplug resistor. same. Keep following back and feel wire for damage or pinches. Good Luck They do make circut breakers you may plug in the fuse or you can wire one in to find your short. Gotta watch the foil wrap, may end up with only a title.
Hope this isnt it becuase i bought it over a year ago. Didnt fix it but was to lazy to mess with it anymore. Because I was lazy... damn warranty expired on the part already.
