trunk lid adjustment

    put trunk lid back on after installing weatherstripping and i have a wider gap on drivers side than on passenger side how can i adjust side to side:hmmm:

    Ive heard of some guys on here actually get on the side that has a smaller gap and shuvs the trunk over and closes it until its even.

    Mine was too small of a gap on pass. side. Took two of our body guys and a couple of big bars but they got it. Two of them shoved the lid over by hand and then bent the hinge points a bit to finish it. They dont fit very well even after adjusting. The striker can be used to pull it over the last bit when closed. It was one of those things on my car I didnt want to watch. :)

    1972 Maverick 2 door.Original V-8 3 spd std shift.Also a 72 one owner Sprint sporting a 351 Windsor
    Take the striker off the deck lid and close it...If it lines up now...adjust striker location when you re attach it...if not...Time to bend stuff.
