ok well me and the family are moving into a new house, so funds are tight for the next month or 2, how many of you are successfully running turndowns on your car without the fumes inside?
You could probably get away with it for a while, but when it came time to get a Safety Inspection (assuming your state has one), it probably wouldn't pass.
I don't have "turndowns" exactly.......but my exhaust is pointed down between the rear springs and the rear quarter panels.......can't see it from any angle. I've never had a problem with fumes, not that I know of anyway. Louisiana doesn't have very strict requirements on exhaust. Just have to have a muffler and if the car came with cats from the factory, you have to run cats on it. It used to be as long as it was 10 years old that you didn't have to have cats but i believe that they have changed it now. Anyway- Like I said, I've never had a problem and I like the way mine sounds. It really echoes off of the ground. Good Luck!! Take care! Preston
I have turndowns right before the rear wheels. Just dont sit still with the doors open and the car running. Otherwise... . Plus you can hear the car rumble comming and going.
I have had turndowns on my car for about 25 years. I dont drive it everyday. Loud, kicks up dust,, exhaust fumes in the car, especially at stop lights. I love um!! Dan
i have purple hornie glasspacks with turndowns that exit between the front and rear door. sounds awesome. if you sit for a long time you can notice a slight fume smell but i rarely leave it sitting still for that long. love the echo off of the ground.
