For the first time ever, I spotted TWO Mavericks "in the wild" today. Both were near Murphy, NC. The first one, I came up behind him on Hwy. 64 near downtown Murphy, it was a light green small bumpered 2 door, with a primer gray left front fender and slot mag wheels on it. He made a left turn off onto some little side street. As usual, I wasn't driving my Maverick when I saw it, was driving my '89 Chevy pickup. Could only get a crappy pic of it. Then, to my disbelief, I was driving along and spotted ANOTHER Maverick! I was able to get pretty good pics of it, it was in super nice shape from what I could see:
Yea, it looked real nice. I've been driving by that house for years, and never seen the car before. I'm going to go by there again next weekend just to see if it's still there.
Wow what are the odds i saw a 77 4 door red maverick yesterday. It has a 302 with PERFECT black flight bench interior. I left a note but never got a call.
that so true I have seen glimpses of them in the wild as well, lol, Its pretty exciting cause they are rare especially an everyday driver. We should come up with a nick name, The Loch ness monster is called nessie, bigfoot is called sasquatch among other names, we should vote for a name when there is a sighting of a maverick or comet on the streets.
I don't see them in the wild much here as well , and you would think with as many that were made and the way the economy has been people would start daily driving them for transportation, but I suppose most of the ones that were around here have rotted away....?
I would say that is very true. Plus, different cars have moved up the foodchain as far as a "cheap" car to drive. Escorts, Cavaliers, Aspires, Festivas, etc.....and other cheap cars from the 80's and 90's. Even thoese cars are rusty around these parts. Ha, ha.
