Question 1: Can the driver side window fitment on a Maverick be adjusted up and down. (without using the window crank for you funny guys). Question 2: Did different year Mavericks have different drivers side window heights? Specs are: 1971 Ford Maverick 2-door. Ok, here is my dilemma. My drivers side window does not roll down all the way and I am wondering if it can be adjusted. There is about 3/8" of the window above the beltline. Its not a big deal, but is annoying when trying to look cool resting your arm on the door! I have read the window adjustment threads I found but from what I gather they are only for side to side adjustment. Also, I pulled the window and regulator and it does not have any missing or broken teeth. It fully closes and rolls up and down with no problems (no binding, etc.) Now my passenger window seems to have the same amount of travel but is below the beltline when rolled all the way down. I am wondering if different years have different window heights? Mine may have been previously broken and replaced with the wrong year? Thanks in advance!
Rubber window stop Ok, so I solved my problem. Inside the door there is a rubber window stop. This had come out of the passenger side letting the window go further down inside the door. The driver's side was "right" but sat up too high for my liking. So, I took the rubber stops out of both sides and trimmed them with a hacksaw about 3/8th of an inch. Now both windows sit right at/just below the belt line.
