Dale's doctors did the heart catherization today. They did find a small blockage in one of the blood vessels in his heart and inserted a stent to open the vessel up. The whole proceedure took about a hour. He will have to stay overnight, but everything seems to going well. He is in good spirits and already bugging the nurses for coffee. They also brought him a huge tray of food since he had not eaten since last night. This has to be a good hospital because the food is really rather good. Even he liked it. The only drawback is now he might have to wait until the end of Sept. to get the aneurysm fixed. That's starting to sound more and more like major surgery , but we'll know more next Wednesday when he see's the surgen and they decide which way to go with it. In the mean time, I left him with an Eastwood catalog and I'm sure I'll end up with a Christmas wish list a mile long.
Thanks for the up date Jean. I'm glad this stage is over, well nearly. Just needs to go home... I hav'nt stoped the prayers on my end, got to thank Him now. God bless.
glad to hear that jean. sorry to hear about the catalog. i'm sure that will be the most expensive part of the surgery.
Maybe you can take him a fender and some sand paper to keep him busy. Glad to hear all is going well so far.
Glad to hear Dale's doing well. Just make sure he has only 1 small sheet of paper for that wish list.
I'm sure the old lady he has to share the room with would love that. He won't be slinging any hammers around for a while. Nomally when they do this proceedure, the doctors go up through an artery in the groin, ( OUCHHH!!! ) but because of the location of the aneurysm, they went in through the artery in his wrist instead. He will have a bandage on his right wrist for a while, but since he is left handed it should'nt hinder him too much. Still in all, it's going to be sooo much fun trying to keep him from banging around on our new Maverick. I know he'll be raring to go in the morning, sore or not.
