Just a quick note following up on my newly discovered oil leak.

(I hope this is the right place for this discussion -- I promised Ray I wouldn't put my info in the wrong place anymore!!).

Just out of curiosity, I put a 7/8" ratchet on each of the bolts -- and every single one of them was loose enough I could turn them without the socket wrench, just using the extension and the socket!! So, I snugged them down on a cold motor and was careful. Let's see if she leaks now!!

Thanks for the gasket ideas. After tightening the bolts, I'm sure I could repalce the gasket if needed.

    Jim

Not trying to be smart here but... a ratchet is what the socket or extension(two of many) goes onto and 7/8? That is kinda overkill for valve covers.:biglaugh: Might get rid of them foreign tools and get you some snap on':p

probably meant 7/16. glad that's all it was. most of the work on the mavericks is pretty straightforward. if you plan on doing any other work on it you might see about getting a chiltons manual.:)
