I Got the right Length driveshaft at last for my 1973 V-8 Maverick 2-DR. It is 1 inch Longer than a 6cyl. Shaft as seen in the pictures and charts. Thankyou to Don Check here in MI. This is what I have been looking for over a year . There are a lot of posts saying 6cyl and 8cyl are the same length ,for some years yes not 73. If you measure center to center on the u-joints a 6cyl is 45-21/32.....8cyl is 46-21/32 long. Thought this info might help some of ya. Nice Driveshaft spec chart at http://www.1bad6t.com/Maverick/repair/driveshaft.htmL
I've got a 2004 Mustang GT driveshaft in my 77. It's right in that neighboorhood in length. I think it was 45.75" but with the 9 inch rear, it's the perfect length.
Well that is interesting, although it is just 1/32 longer than a 71-72 v8 or 6 driveshaft according to the chart.
