Should be on the dash in front of the steering wheel by the windshield.

if you look from the outside down on the bottom drivers side you should mabye able to see the vin on the back of the dash...if that makes any sense or is any help.

Maybe mexican Mavericks don't have VIN. I know stolen Mavericks usually don't have one. :D

No, no, no guys,! The vin number on a Mexican 73 is on an aluminium tag attached to the drivers door under the latch mechanism. It is not riveted but glued and many times it is either missing or covered up on repaints.
The one other place to look for it is under the front fenders where they are attached to the front clip. They have this serial number stamped on the sheetmetal.
Mexican mavericks did not have the vin numbers on a dashboard plaque like their USA counterparts. I know this. I have a 76 and a 73 both built in Mexico

Come to think of it and judging by the description given on your info under your user name I am starting to wonder if you have a mexican or american built maverick. Since Mexican Mavericks did not come with 2oo cid. engines but either 289 or 302 cid.s

    Suerte

I have seen a picture of a Mexican Maverick that does have the rivits on the VIN, on the driver's side door. Maybe they changed from year to year.
